Keachia Bowers Back to all Bios previous | next

Keachia Makeba Bowers, a New York native of Jamaican parents, was introduced to the power of music and dance at a very tender age.  Coming from a foundation of Roots, Rock and Reggae, Keachia often danced at home, as her father played music ranging from Bob Marley & Burning Spear to Monte Alexander & Stevie Wonder.

As a teenager, Keachia performed with the Black Nukozano Dancers, a South Florida dance company that energized the Caribbean community with exciting dancehall moves & concise choreography.   Her portfolio with the Black Nukozano Dancers includes performances on the Shabba Ranks World Unity Concert, the Bob Marley Festival, the Reggae Soca Music Awards, and much more.  Later on, Keachia decided to explore West African dance, leading her to perfom with SASA and Roots & Culture Dance Ensemble.

Keachia continues to believe in the power of movement through dance and the sound of music.  More recently, she has appeared in Singing Melody’s music video, “I Can Only Imagine”.  She’s also co-hosted a production alongside reggae sensation, Tony Rebel, celebrating South Florida’s Unifest festival.

Her mantra, ‘dance like no one is watching’ radiates in every performance, as she smiles and shares her love with the audience each and every time…
